Innovation of Steelmaking Process for Baosteel's Stainless Steel Project

The innovation of the steelmaking process for Baosteel's stainless steel project was introduced in this paper.The theoretical basis and features of the technical innovation of Baosteel's steelmaking process for stainless steel were studied and analyzed.For the first time,both the stainless steel production line and carbon steel production line were arranged under the same roof.The hot metal dephosphorization in hot metal ladle was used to provide dephosphorized hot metal for the stainless steel production line.An SS-VOD was installed to satisfy the demand of conventional stainless steel smelting.It also created condition for production of ultra-low carbon,ultra-low nitrogen and super ferrite stainless steel.
