Abstract
Objective:To establish the percentile standards of growth references of height for age (HFA),weight for age (WFA),body mass index (BMI) and for Children 0~7 years inYantai. Methods:Randomized stratified clustered sampling method was used. The data of height and weight of 11 747 children (6 261 boys,54 861 girls) from 2003 to 2005 inYantai were collected to establish HFA, WFA and BMI percentile curve of the child at 0~7 years age in Yantai with LMS method. Results:Nine percentile curves of the 0~7 years child were plotted for HFA, WFA and BMI respectively. They were percentile P3,P5,P10,P25,P50,P75,P90,P95 and P97 of HFA, WFA and BMI. Weight and height of child increased constantly with ages in Yantai. Comparison with WHO the P50, P50 of the male and female child at various ages section, the percentile of age for height had no significant difference, but was slightly higher than WHOP50 standard. The weights of boys aged 0~5 from Yantai were higher than the WHO standard slightly, but that aged over 5 obviously were higher than WHO's, while that of girls aged 0~5 basically approached WHO's.Conclusion:The percentil references of height, weight and BMI of the children aged 0~18 in Yantai have been developed by LMS software.
