Decomposition of China's Regional Disparity and its Implications

Abstract

The author attempts to decompose China′s regional dispari ty into regional, industrial and rural urban components with the help of Gini coefficient, Theil indices and weighted variation coefficient The empirical findings shed light on the direct factors that affect the change of regional disparity, and provide important policies to narrow the regional disparity
