Abstract
Philosophy of science and philosophy of social science have a common subject matter: the essence of science. But they undergo different progressive process: philosophy of science focuses on autonomous essence of natural science, and philosophy of social science pivots on the debate between naturalism and humanism. It is critical realism and social constructivism that provide the common platform of conception for uniting them.
