The Becomevisible Research on the History of Philosophy of Science:From Scientific Community to Science-Philosophy Community

Different from diverse studies on the history of philosophy of science, the paper will explore the complex relationship between science and philosophy in the subject. The research on the history of philosophy of science has come into being since 1996 1st International Conference of History of Philosophy of Science. The question of what is the thing called history of philosophy of science has always been focused on. The history of philosophy of science is not the history of scientifi c thoughts, even not the history of academic mainstreams of philosophy of science. The subject focuses on the conception development of the relationship between science and philosophy, namely its harmony, contradiction and new harmony. According to Thomas Kuhn the harmony/contradiction of science with philosophy are called science-philosophy community. The history of philosophy of science will be defied as the development processing of consensus formed from scientists and philosopher, broken by scientific revolution, rebuilt when reforming philosophy with science. According to history of philosophy of science, science and philosophy are the two kinds of unifying continual knowledge, so called philosophy of science ought to be the unity of the empirical with the transcendental, the unity of knowledge with wisdom, and fact judgment with value judgment. The conclusion is that, any scientific theory must form conception from philosophy, and any philosophical conception must be based upon the science.
