Life and spirit of scholars in late Tang Dynasties as reflected in Zheng Gu's poetry

Abstract

Compared to the poets of the early Tang Dynasty,Zheng Gu was far below them in literary achievements,yet he remained top among the poets of his generation.Zheng's life experience and mental state can be regarded as an epitome of his fellow scholars.This paper takes Zheng's poems written in his official career as an example to make a detailed analysis of his attitude,so as to explore the mind of scholars in that period.
