Abstract
Objective To observe the efficacy of edaravone in treatment of acute cerebral hemorrhage. Methods Sixty-four cases were randomly divided into treatment group(n=32) and control group(n=32).The control group was given routine treatment of acute cerebral hemorrhage. The treatment group was treated with edaravone in addition to the routine treatment received by the control group.Barthel index(BI) and Chinese Stroke Scale(CSS) and the efficacy in two groups were assessed before treatment and at 21th day after treatment. The changes of brain edema and the adverse reaction associated with the edaravone treatment were observed. Results The results of CSS and BI of two groups improved at 21th day after treatment, and CSS and BI of the treatment group were better than those of control group,CSS(10.6±5.2) points vs(13.5±5.9) points,BI(52.5±6.2) points vs(42.2±6.9) points(P0.05);There were also significant differences between two groups in terms of apparent effect rate(treatment group 71.9%;control group 34.4%,P0.05) and improvement rate(treatment group 87.5%,control group 62.5%,P0.05).At 14th day treatment, the incidence of 2-and 3-grade brain edema of the treatment group was 12.5%,which was lower than that of the control group(34.4%)(P0.05).There was no distinct adverse reaction of the edaravone treatment. Conclusion Edaravone can accelerate the recovery of neural function after cerebral hemorrhage.
