Abstract

Shenzhen is a metropolis with a population of nearly 10 million. The paper firstly analyses the evolution and the present characteristics of Shenzhen's spatial structure. Then it predicts the tendency of the city's development. Thirdly, in light of the Theory of Organic Concentration, it explores the contradictions and problems in the current spatial structure of Shenzhen featuring single core, multiple radiation axes and surrounding satellite towns and provides a new blueprint with a characteristic of three level urban hierarchy with two CBDs, four sub central cities and two towns.
