Abstract

Selected Novels is a periodical publication run by the Chinese Writers' Union. It started from Oct. 1980 and stopped in 1989. It experienced the literature heyday of the new period,and it is an abridged history of novels. As an authoritative publication, it led the direction pf novels. It broke through the yoke of the main stream of consciousness and returned to literature itself. It contributed a lot to the history of novels for its broad field of vision and incorporation with things of diverse nature.
