Abstract
In the southwest of Hubei there exist welldeveloped Permian strata which contain the major sedimentary types in south China. The authors took the Maocaojie section as a typical Permian section, which includes 13 grade 3 sequences that can be divided into two groups: the early craton basin sequences and the late interpolate rifted basin sequences. In the working area,it is an extensional tectonic background, starting with a continuous and extensive subsidence and followed by rifting at late stage. The basin underwent 5 stages,i.e.beginning,growing,stagnation,maturation and shrinking. It disappeared by mid-Triassic.Different sequences formed at different stages with obvious rhythm.

Method details are not available in the OpenAlex metadata.
Findings are not separately available in the OpenAlex metadata.
Limitations are not available in the OpenAlex metadata.
