Abstract

Objective To understand the prevalence of malaria in Bobai County during past 20 years and provide scientific evidence for malaria control.Methods The data of malaria infection in febile patients of local residents and mobile population Bobai County in 1991-2010 were collected and statistically analyzed.Results From 1991 to 2010 a total of 43 malaria cases including 7 fallicparum malaria and 36 vivax malaria were detected from mobile population.Out of the 43 cases 42 were returned from outside of the county,1 was imported case.Twenty-two cases were from Hainan province,10 from Guangdong,5 from Guangxi,3 from abroad and 3 cases from the provinces of Hubei,Guizhou and Yunnan each with one case.Conclusion Effective control measures including strengthening surveillance of mobile population,especially those returned from outside and aborad,timely disvocery of infectious focus and preventing the secondary cases for cosolidating malaria control achievements.
