Abstract
Objective To explore the impacts of family history on allergic diseases, and to provide evidence for preventing children's asthma. Methods A questionnaire survey was conducted on the school children in Wilhelmshaven and Delmenhorst in Germany.Association between family history of allergic diseases and childhood asthma was calculated in univariate and multivariate logistic regression model. Results Family history of allergic diseases, especially allergic asthma had statistic influence on childhood asthma;in addition, maternal asthma had more influence than paternal asthma, paternal eczema had more influence than maternal eczema, both of them with rhinitis had similar influence on childhood asthma;the more allergic patients in family, the more chances of asthma infection the children had.The tendency still existed after excluding all the possible confounding factors in the multivariate logistic regression model. Conclusion Family history of allergic diseases have influences on childhood asthma, and different kinds of diseases and relatives have different influences.
