Synthesis and Crystal Structure of Coordination Compound of Copper (II) Benzonate with 1,10-phenanthroline

Copper benzonate ternary complex [Cu(ba)_2(phen)(H_2O)]_2(C_ 52H_ 40Cu_2N_4O_ 10 ,M_r=1007\^96) has been synthesised in the solution of copper(Ⅱ) nitrinate salt , where ba=benzoic acid and phen=1,10\|phenanthroline. The molecular and crystal structure was determined by single crystal X-ray diffraction, the results indicate that the complex crystal is monoclinic with space group P2_1/n and unit cell parameters are: a=10.455(1),b=21.263(2),c=11\^199(2) ; β=117.69(10)°, Z=2, V=2204.5(5) 3, F(000)=1036, D_c=1.519 Mg/m3, μ=1\^033 mm -1, R=0.0294, wR=0.0796. In the crystal Cu(Ⅱ) ion is five\|coordinated to form a square pyramid.
