Progress in diagnosis and treatment of lung cancer in the elderly

Abstract

Lung cancer is one of the worst cancers in the world,which mortality rate is on the top.More than 50% of lung cancer patients are diagnosed over the age of 65.Because elderly patients often present with physiological and pharmacological exceptionality,the selection of optimal treatment for them is more challenging.This article reviews the progress in diagnosis and treatment of lung cancer in the elderly in recent five years.
