Besides his critical spirit and realism,Ye Shi also made a contribution to the moral philosophy of Confucianism and the thinking on Chinese traditional politics.He revealed the paradox of the Mean and thought that the Mean was a change of the Way.His thought is analogous to Modern European Philosophy.His critical analysis of the dualism,the historical approach to Confucianism and explanation of the ancient society played an important part in the history of Chinese philosophy.
