Urban Texture of Inherited Classical District and its Concepts for Public Space Design: A Case Study of Qingdao

Starting with the concept of urban texture, this article intends to recognize urban space through human behaviors. Taking Qingdao classical urban district as example, this article analyzes the relationship between the urban texture and public space, explodes urban texture's composition and probes into the design conceptions of public space. It proposes the design paths of modern public space: In accordance with the city planning idea and under the premise of functional requirements, the design of public space needs to pay more attentions to the quality of living space and humanistic design methods. This article aims at providing some suggestions and references to the construction of contemporary urban public space.
