Abstract
Objective:To evaluate the method and clinical efficacy of embolization therapy for cerebral arteriovenous malformations(AVMs)with Onyx. Methods:all the 7 patients underwent cranial artery subtraction angiography and the supplying vessels to AVMs were identified.Marathon floating microcatheter was inserted into nidus of AVMs,then onyx was injected to it.Results:Effective embolization was achieved in all 7cases,50%~60% emboliazation in 5 cases, less than 50% embolization in 2 cases. No severe complication occured in all the cases. Conclusion:Onyx is the ideal embolism to AVMs and the clinical efficacy is definit. The operation should be careful to minimize the complication.
