On the Rationality of Urban Land Use Scale Expansion:a Case Study of Taicang City

The paper discussed the measurement method of rational urban land scale by using C-D production function and methods of econometrics,and analyzed the rationality of urban land use scale expansion based on the indexes of deviation and rationality.Then,the paper took Taicang City as a case.Overall,the urban land scale during the study period was higher than the rational scale,but the urban land expanded much more rationally.The paper concluded that the rationality of urban land use expansion could be measured by using the methods of econometric models and economic analysis.In order to improve the rationality of urban land use scale expansion,attention should be paid to the improvement of land use efficiency and ecological service value of land,and the corresponding performance evaluation system also should be established and improved.
