Experience of ZHANG Lan Professor for Treating Early Type 2 Diabetes

Diabetes mellitus(DM) is a group of clinical syndrome caused by the genetic and environmental and its main clinical manifestation is the derangement of glucose metabolism.Traditional chinese medicine believes the etiology and pathogenesis of DM is that improper diet,imbalance of Qing zhi and different physique and other factors lead to Yin Jin losses and dryness-heat luxuses.And its typical symptoms are polydypsia,polyphagia,polyuria.The author's mentor Professor ZHANG Lan according to the basic theory of traditional chinese medicine and good clinical experience summarized:The maladjustment of lung,spleen and kidney function is the pathogenesis of glycuresis;it may,however,combine other pathological factors such as dampness-heat and blood stasis.Then diabetes mellitus clinically would be divided into exuberant heat in lung and stomach,dampness-heat encumbering the spleen and dual deficiency of Qi and Yin with blood stasis syndrome.With generalsymptom,tongue manifestation and pulse condition of patients,the method of treatment should not only be reducingfever and drain dampness but also tonifying Qi and Yin.The meaningful results emphasised the superiority and distinguishing feature.
