Experience of LIN Lan in treating diabetes.

Professor LIN Lan thinks that diabetes has four basic syndromes:exuberance of heat, deficiency of yin, deficiency of qi and deficiency of yang. He divides diabetes into three types: Yin deficiency and heat exuberance, both deficiency of qi and yin, both deficiency of yin and yang. Pathogenesis of diabetes is mainly both deficiency of qi and yin, the three types of diabetes reflects the early, middle and advanced stages of disease evolution. The basic treatment rule is supplementing qi and nourishing yin, and promoting blood flow and removing blood stasis is the main method of preventing diabetic vasculopathy.
