Abstract
Objective To investigate the role of Anorectal manometry in the diagnosis and therapy of functional constipation.Methods 41 patients with functional constipation were selected to accept Anorectal manometry.Ten healthy subjects were also selected as control group.Anorectal manometry was performed.The data of anorectal function was analyzed and contrasted between the two groups.Results While simulative defecation,to compared with healthy subjects[(84.75±9)mmHg],patients with constipation had higher anal relaxing pressure[(40.5±5.25)mmHg].Also patients with constipation had higher defecating pressure [(60±5.5)mL] and rectal maximum volume threshold[(210±14.3)mL]than healthy subjects [(35±4.2)mL,(115±13.6)mL].There were no difference in rectal resting pressure,anal resting pressure,maximal aqueezing pressure and length of high-pressure area between two groups.Conclusion Anorectal manometry plays an important part in diagnosis and treatment of functional constipation and deserved to be popularized.
