Abstract
Objective This study was to understand the health status of the staff and implement health management effectively.MethodsAccording to the physical examination reports of 2009~2010 and the questionnaires of the teaching staff,the valid 574 questionnaires were analyzed.Results The number of the female faculty staff is more than the male staff.Those aged 40 to 60 and above accounted for 74.3%.The first six diseases are as follows: cardiovascular disease,225cases(39.2%),chronic joint disease,227 cases(39.5%),oral disease,155 cases(27.1%),ophthalmic disorders,134 cases(23.3%),ear-nose-throat disease,101 cases(17.6%),and metabolic and endocrine system disease,84 cases(14.6%).Conclusion The spectrum of the chronic diseases of the college teachers is almost the same as that of the chronic diseases in the society.The college teachers are becoming a sub-healthy group,so it was realized that great attention should be paid to their health.The community's medical care network and overall medical equipment and facilities should be gradually improved and health management and health education must be enhanced so as to provide better medical and health care for the staff in the universities and colleges.
