Abstract

Rapid tooling is one of the major applications of rapid prototyping.However,the accuracy of the modeled parts cannot reach the dimension accuracy and surface accuracy of prototype or core required by Rapid Tooling(RT).This essay analysis the factors that influence the process precision based on FDM prototyping,and analysis its root and mechanism of action.Through the qualitative and quantitative analysis,a method to reduce the error occurred in the process of deposition modeling was raised.This method has been approved by experiments and the results indicate that it can solve the problem of warp deformation and dimension precision to some extent and can raise the precision of prototype.Therefore,this method has a realistic referential value to the improvement of FDM process precision.
