No final conclusion has yet been reached by the academic circles on when Cao Zhi wrote his poetry of fairyland roving.The present writer believes that Cao Zhi wrote these poems in the year 221.Care for the human fate, a yearning for freedom, and a complicated state of mind after his demotion constitute the main ideas and implications of Cao Zhi's poetry of fairyland roving. The author does not agree with the view that the poetry shows the decline of Cao Zhi's enterprising spirit after his going through various kinds of hardships.
