Abstract

Objective:To observe the effects of methyl carboprost suppository on reduction of postpartum bleeding and the time of anal exhaust after cesarean section. Methods:Altogether 623 pregnancy women accepted cesarean delivery were randomly divided into two groups:the group of taking carboprost suppository anally, and the other group of injecting oxytocin intravenously. The medicine was taken immediately after cesarean section and the amount of bleeding during operation,2 hours after operation and 2~36 hours after operation and the time of anal exhaust was compared respectively.Results:2 hours after operation the hemorrhage quantity of the carboprost suppository group was reduced significantly and the incidence of postpartum hemorrhage was significantly less and the time of anal exhaust was significantly shorter than the group injected oxytocin(P0.05).While the difference of the hemorrhage quantity between the two groups is not significant in 2~36 hours after the operation(P0.05).Conclusion:Taking carboprost suppository can significantly reduce hemorrhage and the incidence of postpartum hemorrhage after cesarean delivery and short the time of anal exhaust.
