Abstract
Objective To observe the clinical efficacy of continuous infusion of octreotide in the treatment ol tumor ileus. Methods 50 cases of patients with tumor ileus who received surgical treatment were divided into two groups, the control group(26 cases) received conventional treatment, included fasting, nasogastric gastrointestinal decompression and total parenteral nutrition support;the treatment group(24 cases) received octreotide in addition to conventional treatment. The 24-hour gastrointestinal decompression amount, conservative treatment failure requiring emergency surgery rate, wound infection rate, preventive colostomy rate and intestinal fistula rate of the two groups were observed. Results Compared to the control group, the differences of the 24-hour gastrointestinal decompression amount decreased significantly, the conservative treatment failure requiring emergency surgery rate, wound infection rate, preventive colostomy rate and intestinal fistula rate in treatment group were statistically significant(P0.05).Conclusion Continuous infusion of octreotide is a safe and effective means for the conservative treatment of acute intestinal tumor.
