Abstract
The mixotrophic culture of Spirulina platensis at different concentrations of Glu as nitrogen source was investigated. The effects on the growth, chlorophyll a, protein content and photosynthesis of S. platensis were studied after adding different concentrations of Glu to culture medium. Adding Glu ( 1.0 g L -1 ) would improve the growth and physiological activity of S. platensis cultivated in the Zarrouk medium. The growth of S. platensis in the medium with 0.8 g L -1 Glu was the best. The addition of Glu would alleviate the change of pH. Fig 4, Tab 2, Ref 7
