Abstract
Objective:To investigate the expression of COX-2 and MMP-7 and their influence on invasion and metastasis in colorectal cancer. Methods:Immunohistochemical methods were used to detect the expression of COX-2 and MMP-7 in 62 case of colorectal carcinomas. Results:The positive rate of the expressions of COX-2 and MMP-7 was significantly higher in colorectal cancer tissues than in normal tissues(P0.05).The overexpressions of COX-2 and MMP-7 were correlated to lymph node metastasis,Dukes grade of carcinoma and depth of invasion(P0.05).A significant correlation was found between COX-2 and MMP-7.Conclusion:The overexpressions of COX-2 and MMP-7 are strongly related to the invasion and metastasis of colorectal carcinoma and they may be a valuable indictor for assessing prognosis and for selecting suitable therapy for patients.
