Abstract

Objective: To observe the curative effect of acupuncture therapy and swallowing functional rehabilitation to treat dysphagia after stroke. Methods: The patients who had acataposis because of acute cerebral accident were divided into two groups( acupuncture group and control group). The patients of acupuncture group were given acupuncture and swallowing functional training of rehabilitation once a day and the patients in control group were given swallowing functional training only,then the curative effect had been observed after two courses of treatment. Results: Acupuncture group: There were 8 cases cured,19 cases with approving results and 3 cases without any results. Control group: There were 2 cases cured,18 cases with approving results and 10 cases without any results. Conclusion: Acupuncture therapy and swallowing functional training of rehabilitation have a reliable effect on dysphagia patients and it is a safe and effective therapy without adverse reaction.
