Abstract
Based on DEA model, the paper measures the efficiency of education expenditure of 31 provinces, cities and autonomous regions in China. The result shows that technical efficiency of Eastern region was higher than Mid-western region's;scale efficiency of Mid-western region is higher than Eastern region's. Factors concentration and transfer-dependence are the main causes of efficiency differences of education expenditure,so Eastern Region should lay stress on optimizing educational expenditure structure and advance scale efficiency;Mid-western region should increase educational investment, standardize local government behavior and improve technical efficiency.
