The Efficacy of Carvedilol in Treatment of High Altitude Heart Disease with Heart Failure and Atrial Fibrillation

Abstract

Objective To test the effect of carvedilol in treatment of high altitude heart disease with heart failure and atrial fibrillation.Methods From March 2010to April 2012,83cases of high altitude heart disease with heart failure and atrial fibrillation were selected and randomly divided into 2groups:40patients of the control group and 43cases of carvedilol group.Results After 6months of treatment,compared to the control group,carvedilol group has better effect on heart rate,six minutes walking distance,HsCRP(high sensitivity C-reactive protein),LVESD(left ventricular end-diastolic dimension),LVESD(left ventricular end-systolic)and LVEF(left ventricular ejection fraction).Conclusions Carvedilol can improve clinical symptoms and heart function.in patients of high altitude heart disease with heart failure and atrial fibrillation.
