Abstract

Objective To investigate the clinical effect of abdominal acupuncture on vertedbrobasilar insufficiency of splenonephric hypofunction type. Methods Seventy-one patients with vertebrobasilar insufficiency were randomly allocated in order of visit to a treatment group of 36 cases and a control group of 35 cases. The clinical symptoms were observed and transcranial Doppler ultrasonography performed. Results Vertigo was relieved more and the result of transcranial Doppler ultrasonography was better in the treatment group than in the control group;statistical analysis showed a significant difference(P0.01).Conclusion Abdominal acupuncture can relieve vertigo and improve vertebrobasilar blood supply in vertebrobasilar insufficiency of splenonephric hypofunction type.
