Abstract

In Confucianism before Qin Dynasty, Confucius built his philosophy on the ideas of human reason and constructed the theory of Confucianism, which was of abundant elements of intersubjective thought. Under the basis of inheriti ng Confucius' ideas and researching the matter in their own age, Xunzi and Menci us pointed their philosophy-ethic theories from two directions (li and yue or be nevolence) and made intersubjective thought into a basic substance and principle of the theory of Confucianism which became the origin of the spirit of li, yue and benevolence of our nation.
