Abstract
This article analyzes the sports consumption of the urban residents in Zhejiang Province from its economic characteristic as an industry and the public good.The impact of economic characteristic on the demand and supply of the sports is also analyzed.The amount of sports consumption of urban residents is in a increasing trend overall,but the level is not high with unsatisfied needs of sports,because of insufficient public sports facilities and sports supply,as well as the immature market agency.To solve the gross and structural contradictions of the supply and demand of sports products,the government should take the lead role in the sports development to give attention to the industrial and public feature of sports.
