Abstract

Objective To evaluate the value of three dimensional digital subtraction angiography (3D DSA) on the diagnosis and embolization planning of cerebral aneurysms. Methods DSA and 3D DSA were performed in 26 patients ( aged 9-68 years) suspected to be with cerebral aneurysms. The schemes of embolization were worked out according to the results of 3D DSA. Results Positive rate of 3D DSA in showing aneurysm, multiple aneurysm, micro small aneurysm, son aneurysm, and perforated artery was slightly higher than that of DSA, but there was no significant difference (χ 2=3.01, P 0.05). 100% occlusion was achieved in 18 patients with cerebral aneurysms by using embolization. Conclusion 3D DSA may improve the accuracy in diagnosing SAH and in showing clearly the stereo conformation of aneurysm and the relationship of sac and parent artery. It is helpful in the evaluation and guidance of embolization of cerebral aneurysms.
