Abstract

Objective To observe the platelet activation in patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease(COPD).Methods The changes of CD62P,CD63,CD4,CD61 in platelets which reflects the platelet activity were measured in 68 patients with COPD and 36 healthy subjects(controls),and then the results were compared between two groups.Results Plasma levels of CD62P and CD63 in COPD patients was statistically higher than those in controls,especially in acute exacerbation stage.Conclusion There is an abnormal platelet activation in COPD patients,especially when the condition worsens.Activated platelets may play the major role in the development of COPD.
