Abstract

One of the major challenges for successful cancer gene therapy is the development of safe and effective gene delivery vectors. In gene delivery vectors,non-viral vectors have shown a promising perspective because of their low-toxic,non-immunogenic,non-oncogenic and easy-to-produce properties. This article reviews the recent studies from the characters, mechanisms of transfection and factors of affecting transfection effects of non-viral vectors such as naked DNA,liposome and lipoplexes, polyplex including polyethylenimine and chitosan, and molecular conjugates used in cancer gene therapy.
