Therapeutic Effect of Minimally Invasive Evacuation of Intracranial Hematoma Combined with Administration of Edaravone on Elderly Patients with Acute Hypertensive Intracerebral Hemorrhage

Abstract

Objective: To investigate the effects of minimally invasive evacuation of intracranial hematoma combined with administration of edaravone on the levels of serum inflammatory cytokines and the neurologic function recovery in elderly patients with acute hypertensive intracerebral hemorrhage.Methods:Forty-five elderly patients with acute hypertensive cerebral hemorrhage in the basal ganglia were randomly divided into the control group(n=25) and the observation group(n=20).The patients in the control group were given minimally invasive evacuation of intracranial hematoma and conventional treatment,while the patients in the observation group were given edaravone treatment in addition to the basic treatment above(30 mg,intravenous,semidaily,for 14 days).The serum levels of hs-CRP,TNF-α and IL-6,scores of CSS and total clinical efficacy were compared between the two groups before and at 14,28 days after treatment.Results:Before treatment,the serum levels of hs-CRP,TNF-α and IL-6 and scores of CSS in the two groups were similar.When compared with those before treatment,the serum levels of hs-CRP,TNF-α and IL-6 and scores of CSS in the both groups were decreased after treatment(P0.05).Patients in the observation group had lower serum levels of hs-CRP,TNF-α and IL-6 and scores of CSS and higher effective rate than those in the control group(P0.05).Conclusion:Minimally invasive evacuation of intracranial hematoma combined with administration of edaravone helps to decrease the serum levels of hs-CRP,TNF-α and IL-6 and promote the neurological function recovery of elderly patients with acute hypertensive intracerebral hemorrhage.
