Cohort analysis on case-finding and treatment outcome of pulmonary tuberculosis in Jiangsu province

Objective:To analyze case-finding and treatment outcome of pulmonary tuberculosis in Jiangsu province,and to provide the basis for policy maker of TB control.Methods: Registered cases and their treatment outcome of tuberculosis were analyzed from 2006 to 2010.Result:The total new active pulmonary tuberculosis cases were 228 743,the notification rate of active pulmonary tuberculosis was shown decreased from 65.5/100 000 in 2006 to 54.3/100 000 in 2010;the notification rate of smear positive pulmonary tuberculosis were decreased from 39.2/100 000 in 2006 to 33.7/100 000 in 2010;the notification rate of new smear positive pulmonary tuberculosis were decreased from 31.8/100 000 in 2006 to 28.9/100 000 in 2010.And cure rate has kept on over 90% for recent 5 years,which is higher than the plan required of 85%.Conclusion:In all,due to carry on the policy of the modern tuberculosis control strategy,the level of case-finding and cure management of pulmonary tuberculosis have improved consequently and have achieved significant achievements for the past 5 years in Jiangsu province.
