Abstract
Using polypropylene(PP-g-MA) grafted with maleic anhydride grafted and styrene/ maleic anhydride random copolymer (RSMA) as compatibilizer, polypropylene/polyamide 11 blends(PP/PA 11) were prepared. Their crystal properties were investigated. Their fourier transform infrared spectra(FTIR)showed that the compatibilization mechanism of RSMA is differentfrom that of PP-g- MA. Through comparing differential scanning calorimetric(DSC) curves of 2 compatibilizers, it wasfound that melting temperature of PP in PP-g-MA compatibilization system moves to higher temperature, crystallization of PP and PA11 are severely affected due to adding of PP-g-MA, crytallinity is increased and notched impact performance of blends behaves with higher brittleness.
