Abstract

Objective:EvaluatethenursingworkloadinourCardiothoracicSurgeryICUwithNursingActivities score(NAS) objectively and accurately count the number of nurses on the basis of nursing workload.Make arrangements for the number of nurses foreseeingly and enhance nursing effect. Methods: Apply NAS to evaluate the nursing workload of everyday nursing workload and total nursing workload in our Cardiothoracic Surgery ICU and analysis factors which influence the nursing workload. Results: The average NAS score of each patient in our Cardiothoracic Surgery ICU is 55.83 per day,the lowest score is 37.50,the highest score is 55.83.These factors influencing the nursing workload include the time entering ICU,different sequelae and surgical operation. Conclusions: Nurses of our Cardiothoracic Surgery ICU is bearing overloaded work.Nurse human resource should be justly distributed according to the practical needed nursing workload.Employing nursingmarkingsystemcanenhancethenursingquality.
