The Application of ArcSDE in Raster Data Storage

This article introduces the important usage of ArcSDE database in Gis and gives a brief introduction about ESRI ArcSDE. Here we focus on discussing the storage theory of Raster data used by ArcSDE and its application .This arcticle gives an example to show its powerful functions.In project Digital Qingjiang we use it to store and manage spatial data in a chosen DBMS Oracle,As a high-performance application server to deliver spatial data to many applications, ArcSDE plays a fundamental role in such project which makes it easy to manage spatial data in the unique Oracle database and powerfully to deliver realtime data to our query system and simulation system.
