Abstract

Based on the wind tunnel test of the rigid model in an airport terminal, this paper presents the test results of the average and fluctuating wind pressure coefficients on up and down the roof surface. The characteristics of the wind pressure distributions was studied in detail. The results show that negative pressures occurred on the upper surface of roof mainly, and comparatively large flow separation occurred on windward side of the edge in the roof.Positive pressures occurred under surface of the windward roof, but negative pressures occurred on the leeward side.Wind pressure coefficient of under surface has very large changes in gradient, and wind load characteristics are thus more complex.Such results can be taken as a reference for the design and construction in the wind-resistant of long-span surface roof.
