Abstract
The Xincheng Bridge in Zhoushan, totaling 1 277 m in length, is a bridge built over sea, connecting Lincheng and Changshi Island, Zhoushan City, Zhejiang Province. The foundations of the main piers of the Bridge are designed as bored piles of variable diameters from 1 600 to 1 800 mm. In this paper, the principal construction technology, technical problems encountered and ways to handle the problems in the marine construction of the piles are presented.
