Abstract
Mode of oospores germination of Phytophthora infestans was described. Effects of isolate combinations, time of oospores formation, incubation time on the agar media and light on oospores germination were studied. The results were as follows: Germination rate of oospores produced by different isolate combinations was from 0 to 7.2%. Germination rate of oospores formed was 8.7% when two isolates of different mating types were cultivated for 20 days and their germination rate was 11.4% when oospores were incubated for 25-30 d in the agar media. The highest germination rate of oospores produced in the darkness and incubated under the light in the agar media was 11.8%.
