Abstract

T.aurantialba fruiting bodies were extracted and separated continuously with various polar solvents, and the antioxidant activities of the obtained chloroform extract, ethyl acetate extract and ethanol extract and their protective effects on oxidation-injured PC12 cells were determined by chemiluminometry and H_2O_2-induced PC12 oxidative injury model. The results showed that the chloroform extract had a comparatively high antioxidant activity; All the three extracts had a greater scavenging effect on H_2O_2 radical than on O_2-radical;The ethanol extract had the greatest protective effect on the H_2O_2-induced PC12 oxidative injury and the effect became greater with the concentration increasing. It was concluded that from T.aurantialba fruiting bodies, the chloroform extract was a principal antioxidant extract, and the ethanol extract was a principal extract of protecting oxidation-injured PC12 cells.
