Abstract
The changes of community floristic composition in a 76 year old Chinese fir community, which was originally occupied by a Pinus massoniana broadleaved mixed forest community,were studied based on the data collected from sample plots with an area of 3600 m 2 in Ancaoxia,Nanping.The results showed that the old growth Chinese fir community had far more Pteridophyta species,but less Dicotyledon than the Pinus massoniana broadleaved mixed forest community.Gradients of water and the other ecological factors caused by gradients of slope location had great impact on the floristic composition.Lower slope location and higher environment humidity resulted in higher rate of tropical generic aeral type
