Abstract
Objective The aim of this study was to evaluate the safety and efficiency of the surgical technique of thoracoscopic sympathectomy to destroy the thoracic sympathetic ganglia from singe Operation hole for Palmar hyperhidrosis. Methods From 2006 to June 2010,74 patiens suffering from palmar hyperhidrosis underwent video-assisted thoracoscopic sympathectomy under general anesthesia using a double-lumen endotracheal tube. The light pole and coagulation bar were used through singe operation hole. Results The symptoms disappeared completely in all patients immediately after operation. There were no patients with Honer's syndrome and deaths. The average operation time(both side) was (38.52±9.24) min.The mean follow-up was 16 months (range:8 to 24 months). There were no recurrence cases. Conclusions Thoracoscopic sympathectomy through singe operation hole is a simple, effective and safe minimally invasive treatment for palmar hyperhidrosis.
