Expression and significance of EZH2 and Ki-67 in salivary duct carcinoma

Objective To investigate the expression of EZH2 and Ki-67 proteins in salivary duct carcinoma(SDC) and normal salivary gland,(NSG),and to offer new basis for SDC's prognosis evaluation.Methods Using PV-6001 method to detect EZH2 and Ki-67's protein in 14 NSG samples and 37 SDC ones,and the experimental data were statistically analyzed through SPSS16.0 software.Results There was statistical significance in the expression of EZH2 between SDC and NSG,as well as tumor recurrence,metastasis and diameter of tumor(P0.01),but no statistical significance between gender(P0.05).Furthermore,there was also statistical significance in the expression of Ki-67 between SDC and NSG,as well as tumor recurrence and metastasis(P0.01),but no statistical significance between gender,as well as tumor size(P0.05).Additionally,an obvious positive relationship was noted between EZH2 and Ki-67 in SDC(rs=0.849,P0.01).Conclusion EZH2 and Ki-67 are highly expressed in SDC,and related with tumor recurrence and metastasis.They may participate in the SDC's formation and development.The higher the coordinate expression of EZH2 and Ki-67,the more local infiltration and distant metastasis will take place.Co-detection of both EZH2 and Ki-67 is helpful to SDC's prognosis judgment.
