Abstract

Objective To investigate the changes in the serum high-sensitive C-reactive protein(hs- CRP)levels and their clinical significance in patients with acute cerebral infarction(ACI). Methods The serum hs-CRP levels in 86 patients with ACI and 80 healthy persons as control were measured by immune turbidimetry. The hs-CRP changes were compared in patients of different pathogenetic conditions and infarction areas. Results ①The serum hs-CRP level in patients with ACI was significantly higher than that in the normal control group(P 0.01). ②The serum hs- CRP level was positively correlated with the neurological deficit scores and the infarction area in patients with ACI (P0.01). Conclusion The relationship between the serum hs- CRP level and ACI is intimate, and therefore, the serum hs-CRP level is an objective index to evaluate the severity and prognosis of the disease.
